Scout Groups

Bring your Scout group on the ultimate field trip! Inspirational for all ages, SEA LIFE Aquarium offers groups of 10+ the opportunity to explore the creatures that live in our lakes, rivers and oceans through interactive, hands-on experiences.

  • Tickets starting at $12+tax per child ages 2-12, $15+tax for adults ages 13 and up
  • Minimum of 10 paid child tickets required to receive group rates
  • Advanced pre-paid reservations are required a minimum of 14 days in advance

Oceanography Workshop

Bring your Scouts to SEA LIFE for our FIN-tastic oceanography workshop! Our 2-hour workshop will bring the amazing and inspiring underwater world to life for your scouts as they swim towards earning their merit badge.

  • Workshop starts at $25+tax per scout, $10+tax for adults
  • Includes general admission
  • 1 free chaperone for every 5 scouts
  • 10-person minimum required to book workshop, 30-person maximum
  • Workshop meets five of the requirements towards the Oceanography Merit Badge:
    • Requirement 1: Name 4 branches of oceanography. Describe at least 5 reasons why it is important for people to learn about the oceans.
    • Requirement 5: List the main salts, gases, and nutrients in sea water. Describe some important properties of water. Tell how the animals and plants of the ocean affect the chemical composition of seawater. Explain how differences in evaporation and precipitation affect the salt content of the oceans.
    • Requirement 6: Describe some of the biologically important properties of seawater. Define benthos, nekton, and plankton. Name some of the plants and animals that make up each of these groups. Describe the place and importance of phytoplankton in the oceanic food chain.
    • Requirement 8: Visit one of the following: oceanographic institute, marine laboratory, or marine aquarium.
    • Requirement 9: Describe 4 methods that marine scientists use to investigate the ocean, underlying geology, and organisms living in the water.

Self-Guided Aquarium Activities

Our Educational Visit Guides explore animal behavior, habitats, adaptations, ecosystems, anatomy and water chemistry and more. These guides provide exciting and inspiring information linked to key displays throughout the aquarium to help teachers engage young children to get the most out of their visit.

Free downloadable teacher guides are are available below for students ages 3-5 and 6-11.

Each guide includes accompanying 'explorer sheets' containing activities. You may wish to print out copies of those pages for each child to complete before, after or during your visit.
