Our Penguin Encounter is your ticket to a once-in-a-lifetime penguin encounter with SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium's sub-Antarctic penguin colony.
Suited up in your sub-Antarctic snow gear, this exclusive tour takes you onto an icy wonderland where majestic King and cheeky Gentoo penguins waddle, hop, slip and slide along the ice right in front of you.
Participants will also have the opportunity to go behind-the-scenes in this penguin encounter to see the penguin food preparation area and how this state-of-the-art exhibit maintains its chilly temperatures.

What's Included?
AGES 14+ (Please note that anyone under 18 years will need a paid adult (18+) on the experience to attend with them)
- A 45-minute unique experience which includes 15 minutes on the ice with our penguins
- Go behind the scenes and learn how we take care of our King and Gentoo Penguins
- Suit up in our snow gear and go on the ice with the colony in their habitat

Important information
When booking your Penguin Encounter in our online ticket store you'll be required to formally acknowledge the general booking terms and conditions.
- Participants must not come into contact with birds, or sick/injured wildlife 24 hours prior to the tour
- Participants must not have experienced any gastro/flu/cold/respiratory symptoms within 48 hours before the tour
- Participants must be physically fit and be able to walk about three flights of stairs and around icy terrain
- Loose items are not permitted. No jewellery or watches can be taken on the tour.
- To maintain bio-security cameras are not permitted.
- Mobile phones are only permitted with a mobile phone pouch, which is available to hire on the day for $10 (Pouch dimensions: 18cm x 9cm)
- Participants must wear all safety clothing provided
- Participants must bring their socks and not wear a dress/skirt
- Please arrive 30 minutes before your Penguin Encounter start time. The meeting point for this experience is located at the SEA LIFE Sydney Admissions area
- No open cuts or wounds
- Loose hair must be tied up with a hair tie only
- No touching of the penguins is permitted
- Hands must be washed with soap and iodine before entering the exhibit
- Guests must not be more than 6 months pregnant

This tour was simply amazing!!! If you have even the slightest interest in animals, you need to do this! You can't touch them, but the penguins are only a few cm's away from you.
So much fun. This was our first day in Australia and what a treat to see these penguins up close and personal.
