Be SEA LIFE Mooloolaba's next Junior Turtle Crusador

 

SEA LIFE Mooloolaba has announced the 2015 search for the most passionate turtle devotee to crown the 2015‘Junior Turtle Crusader’and share with the Sunshine Coast community how much they care about protecting the much loved endangered species. 

 

We are searching for the biggest local turtle lover aged between 8 - 14 years with a genuine desire to make a difference in joining the fight against the plight of the world’s sea turtles.

 

With World Turtle Day coming up on May 23 we are excited about finding our Junior Turtle Crusader and encouraging all kids on the Sunshine Coast to tell us why they want to help protect our turtles

 

The Junior Turtle Crusader will have the opportunity to interview a turtle expert from SEA LIFE Mooloolaba and participate in releasing a rehabilitated turtle back into the ocean, as well as shadowing a turtle expert and monitoring the progress of an injured turtle in the attraction’s Turtle Hospital

SEA LIFE Mooloolaba has been caring for sick and injured turtles for more than 25 years and in keeping with the attraction’s strong ethical and environmental values of BREED, RESCUE and PROTECT, the team has rehabilitated more than 900 sick or injured turtles through its programs. 

 

 

The Competition

 

To enter the Junior Turtle Crusader competition, entrants must be aged 8 -14years of age and are required to submit an entry that details why they should be crowned this year’s winner.  Young turtle lovers can either write between 60-100 words, or create a visual entry no larger than A3 in size, and email to competition@underwaterworld.com.au or post to SEA LIFE Mooloolaba, Parkyn Parade, Mooloolaba, QLD, 4557. Photos of creations will also be accepted electronically or by email.

 

Entries close on the 20 May 2015 with the winner announced on Saturday 23 May by SEA LIFE Mooloolaba’s turtle experts coinciding withWorld Turtle Day.
