Freshwater Mussels exhibition
“Did you know that there are mussels that don't live in the sea?”
Created in conjunction with the Interdisciplinary Center for Marine and Environmental Research at the University of Porto - CIIMAR-UP -, its aim is to raise public awareness of what are still unknown but very important species for our freshwater ecosystems.
The exhibition can be seen by kids and adults alike until the end of the year and will provide more information about freshwater mussels, their biology, ecological importance and their unique life cycle, which includes a dependent relationship with a fish.
