A Christmas in Two Hemispheres
The Call of the Penguins: A New Educational Experience Starting December 23
From December 23, 2024, to January 30, 2025, embark on an exciting adventure with our new activation: "The Call of the Penguins." This immersive tale follows penguins from around the globe as they unite on a mission across the oceans to answer the call for help from the endangered African Penguins.
During their visit, children will receive an illustrated leaflet and a sticker sheet featuring all 18 penguin species. At each stage, they will track the journey of these fascinating birds, from the sub-Antarctic islands to South Africa, while discovering the richness and diversity of penguin species.
This animation aims to raise public awareness about the critical situation of African Penguins, who could face extinction within the next 10 years, and to support the vital work carried out by SANCCOB (South African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds).
And also... A Meeting of Hemispheres
Until January 15, dive into the magic of Christmas with a special activation in our classroom, transformed into a festive Christmas village. Visitors of all ages can enjoy a unique encounter with our mascot Flocon, available for daily photo sessions from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM.
This year, our theme highlights the contrasts between the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. Explore two immersive worlds:
• Southern Hemisphere: A setting featuring replicas of penguins, symbols of this ecosystem.
• Northern Hemisphere: A space dedicated to iconic animals like puffins, polar bears, and Arctic wolves.
Visitors can interact with these two worlds through an innovative setup: pressing a button dedicated to one of the hemispheres triggers animal sounds and illuminates the corresponding area. A sensory experience that promises wonder and discovery!
Join us for unforgettable and meaningful moment!
