About the spiny starfish

  • The spiny starfish is a very special starfish. It can develop a wingspan of up to 1 meter and is therefore one of the largest starfish in the world!
  • It has a relatively small center disk, but 5 long, slender arms. Each arm has 3 rows of white spines, which give the starfish its name.
  • The starfish feeds on snails, mussels, sea urchins and crabs.
