Did you know?
- Sunny Stick Insects have a brown to grey body that is visually reminiscent of a dry branch. This camouflage allows them to hide perfectly in their natural habitat and protect themselves from predators. Their spiny structure further enhances this camouflage effect and they practically blend in with their surroundings thanks to their body structure and colour.
- Similar to other species of terror, the females can reproduce asexually through parthenogenesis if no males are present. This means that even unfertilised eggs can produce fully viable offspring.
- The animals originally live in the branches of the forests of Southeast Asia and exhibit remarkably peaceful behaviour. They can be kept in groups without aggression, which makes them particularly attractive for keeping in terrariums.
