Discover Turtles & Terrapins this Summer!
Dive into SEA LIFE London Aquarium this Summer and join the turtle and terrapins rescue team!
Turtles are under threat! Here at SEA LIFE we spend a lot of time caring for turtles, with many sites even rescuing turtles in the wild, but this summer we need your help!
Grab a turtle patrol book and join our turtle rescue mission. Pick your breed of turtle that you will be saving and keep a log of your turtle’s details as you help with all the different rescue stages. Don’t forget to give your turtle a name!
Dive In
Dive in and learn how and why we must help our turtle friends survive!
On your journey through SEA LIFE London Aquarium this summer, you will also encounter over 6,000 creatures from Gentoo Penguins, giant Sand Tiger Sharks to small and colourful Clownfish!
Book your tickets online for 22nd July – 3rd September, included with your standard entry ticket.
Meet the locals!
Get up close to our Green Sea Turtles, Boris & Dougie on your journey this summer!
Meet Boris:
Boris is very chilled and eats all vegetables offered to him! This cool fella currently weighs around 135kg
Meet Dougie:
Dougie is our pickier turtle friend, he prefers munching on leek and chicory. Dougie also loves a good scratch on his shell and likes to interact with our divers!

As old as Dinosaurs
Turtles are one of the oldest reptiles in the world and have been around for over 200 million years. That’s before dinosaurs were extinct - wow!
The bold & the old
The largest species of sea turtle can weigh over a whopping 900kg and they also have an incredibly long lifespan. The oldest ever recorded was 188 years old!
Is it a boy or a girl?
When the turtles have laid their eggs in the sand, the temperature of the sand will determine the sex of the babies. Lower temperatures will lead to males and higher temperatures will lead to females.
Under threat!
There are 7 different species of sea turtle of which many are listed as endangered or vulnerable by the IUCN Red list.
