Aquarist / Animal keeper (m/f/d)

Your challenge

You will work as part of our animal keeper and biologist team in all aquaristic areas of our visitor attraction areas of our visitor attraction both in front of and behind the scenes with
Daily routines, e.g. feeding our animals, show feedings in front of visitors, animal training, cleaning, record keeping, checking and maintaining aquarium technology, water tests and other laboratory tasks
Active involvement in new projects (breeding, species protection, remodelling, conversion and new buildings) completes your area of responsibility
Of course, you are also part of the show to pass on knowledge to colleagues, our visitors and, if necessary, the media,
Giving short talks to groups of visitors or working on guided tours
You are the support and contact person for our employees in the guest area on all topics relating to our animal residents
Taking over on-call duties.

What you bring with you

Completed vocational training as an animal keeper or comparable (alternatively relevant work experience of at least 3 years)
Manual dexterity and determination to look for the cause of problems
Enjoy service-orientated interaction with visitors of all ages
A high degree of team spirit
Good written and spoken English skills
Good written and spoken German skills
Class B driving licence
Willingness to work regularly at weekends and on public holidays
And most importantly: a great sense of humour and always up for a joke
