These premium sea creature experiences take place in the Ocean Display, our largest tank at SEA LIFE Blackpool and home to various species of fish and sharks, including shovelnose guitar fish and zebra sharks; nurse sharks; black and white tip sharks, as well as our hungriest and friendliest resident, Pheonix the giant green sea turtle!

Entry into the aquarium is also included in these experiences which can be booked for up to 4 people so it’s a great way to spend time with loved ones and immerse yourselves into this underwater world of glistening scales.

These VIP sea creature experiences also make a unique gift for loved ones, from a turtle-loving sibling to shark fanatic friend.

Turtle Feeding

The Turtle Feeding experience will allow you to feed our magnificent green sea turtle, Phoenix, whose favourite time of day is feeding time! Learn all about her nutritious diet and natural habitat by one of our trained and knowledgeable aquarists who will accompany you during the experience.

Green sea turtle

Green sea turtles get their name from the green fat around their underside which is caused by their herbivorous diet of sea grass. They tend to eat the tips of sea grass in shallow lagoons which keeps the grass nice and healthy.

Adult green turtles typically grow up to 4 foot in length with an average weight of 150–419 pounds! They are considered the second largest sea turtle in the world today, with leatherback sea turtles being larger at more than 6 foot in length and up to 2,000 pounds in weight!

Snorkelling with the Sharks

Snorkelling with the Sharks experience

Come face to fin with a variety of sharks in this unique Snorkelling with the Sharks experience. Get a closer look at these fin-tastic creatures as you plunge into the Ocean Display tank; can you spot the different shark species within?

  • Black tip sharks have a unique black marking on the tips of their fins, while white tip sharks have the same marking but in white.
  • Zebra sharks are pale in colour with distinctive black spots despite their name! They are in fact born with zebra-like stripes, but they lose these stripes and develop spots as they grow to an adult.
  • Nurse sharks are often referred to as sleeper sharks because they are slow-moving bottom-dwellers. They have two rounded dorsal fins, rounded pectoral fins and two dangly barbels on their top lip that looks a bit like a long moustache! They use these to find food along the seabed.

These are just a few species of shark you’ll find swimming in our ocean tank among many other spectacular sea creatures.

Black Tip Shark

No diving experience is required, but all participants must be able to swim and be over 10 years of age.
