Protecting the world's oceans
The SEA LIFE Trust
Our registered charity (no. 1149058) dedicated to the conservation of marine wildlife and the environment.
With our partner charity, The SEA LIFE Trust, we are proud to develop and support projects that protect marine wildlife and habitats across the world.
Through SEA LIFE, the Trust can reach a huge audience with the key messages about its areas of focus: marine protected areas, sustainable seafood, plastic pollution, and improved protection for sharks, seahorses, turtles and marine mammals.
Last year we raised over £300,000 globally to support the Trust's projects and partner organisations, protecting sharks, rays, turtles, whales, dolphins, seahorses, otters, penguins and many other creatures.

SEA LIFE Trust Beluga Sanctuary
Little Grey and Little White
Creating the world’s first beluga whale sanctuary
The SEA LIFE TRUST is pleased to announce that thanks to a very generous donation from Merlin Entertainments we have built the world’s first beluga whale sanctuary in Iceland!
In early 2019 two previously captive belugas, Little White and Little Grey, begun an epic 6,000-mile journey that has taken them from a Shanghai aquarium to a new ocean home in a beautiful Icelandic bay.
This highly significant event will be the first time that captive beluga whales have ever been released to an ocean sanctuary and it is only because of the support we receive from our project partners – SEA LIFE, Merlin Entertainments and Whale and Dolphin Conservation, that Little White and Little Grey were able to take this significant journey.
All of us who care deeply about the welfare of whales and dolphins hope that it will signal a more positive future for these amazing animals.
