Celebrate a Summer of Sharks

We're celebrating a Summer of Sharks at the aquarium these school holidays, which means you'll be able to sink your teeth into the mysteries and misconceptions of these fascinating fish right through until the end of January.

Catch one of our daily shark talks, come face to face with our 5 incredible shark species and grab the ultimate instagram moment in front of our Megalodon jaws - plus let the kids get creative with our new interactive LEGO Sea Explorer pods.

There’s no better place for an insight into the world of sharks than Auckland’s iconic aquarium, which is home to sand tiger sharks, carpet sharks, a wobbegong shark, broadnose sevengill sharks and school sharks. Our shark facts boards will turn you into a shark expert in no time, with fun questions to test the kids.

Our shark mascot Magnus will be around for meet and greets with the kids between 10-2pm, and you can kick start your adventure by catching the legendary Shark Bus to the aquarium for FREE from downtown Auckland.

And for the ultimate shark encounter for those aged 14+, take the plunge into our oceanarium and come face to face with the predators of the deep, with nothing but a cage between you and the sharks. SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton’s incredible Shark Cage Adventure is one of the only experiences where your guaranteed to have a close encounter of the shark kind, every time.
