February-The Month of love!
- Friday 10th February 2017
Have you ever seen seahorses dance? Gentoo Penguins presenting pebbles to one another? Or a fish change colour?
This is something we see quite often here at SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton's when our animals are preforming a mating ritual.
Just before breeding season our seahorses will dance with each other, a Gentoo will receive an engagement pebble or a fish with either change colour or become brighter to impress. For our King penguins imitation is the highest form of flattery. You will see our Kings strike a similar pose to their companion
Visit our aquarium this month and see our King Penguin parents. Some companionship's have already resulted in cute King penguin chicks. If you are lucky you can spot one of the chicks peeking out from under their parent's feet.
