Don't Miss Jurassic Seas!
- Wednesday 3rd August 2016
Featuring ancient living fossils and state-of-the-art digital technology, the amazing interactive Jurassic Seas experience will be closing at Kelly Tarlton's on 5 September - don't miss out!
Jurassic Seas brings the ocean's most terrifying dinosaurs back to life with the extraordinary use of cutting edge digital technology. You will have a once-in-lifetime opportunity to feed the digital Plesiosaurus, marvel at the giant teeth of the Megalodon and test your bravery in the face of an angry Liopleurodon.
Many living fossils alive today have bizarre, eccentric adaptations that make them seem more like aliens than anything from this world. They have often survived several mass extinctions, and many scientists consider them to be a rare glimpse at how life on Earth was long ago. We are excited to provide this rare opportunity for our guests to get up close and personal with these mysterious creatures, and hope to further educate the public on the importance of preserving our ancient marine life through this unique experience.
One of the highlights of Jurassic Seas are New Zealand's iconic 'living dinosaur' - the tuatara. Tuatara, one of New Zealand's most iconic animals, are one of the world's least evolved and longest surviving species - having been alive since the time of the dinosaurs. Our tuatara have been bred by the Southland Museum and Art Gallery as part of the national breeding programme which helps to re-stablish populations in the wild, and are on long term loan to Kelly Tarlton's.
Don't miss amazing Jurassic Seas - Closing Soon!
