Penguin Passport Encounter

It’s not only because SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton’s Aquarium is home to the Southern Hemisphere’s largest Sub-Antarctic penguin colony display, we also offer you the opportunity to go behind-the-scenes and onto the ice with our cheeky Gentoo and majestic King Penguins. It’s chilly in there, so you’ll be rugged up in snow gear for an up-close experience where you will watch them feed and play. You’ll be mesmerised as you watch them slide and waddle around on the ice and dive in and out of the water. With this penguin encounter experience, you’ll also get exclusive behind the scenes access with one of our keepers to see what it takes to look after the penguins and their state of the art habitat.

 

Shark Cage Adventure

For the more adventurous adrenaline junkies, plunge into shark-infested waters with nothing but a cage between you and SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton’s ocean predators. You will come face to face with Wobbegong and Broadnose Sevengill Sharks, as well as HUGE stingrays and hundreds of other amazing sea creatures that are local to the waters of Auckland.

We’ll provide you with a wetsuit, snorkel and even an underwater camera so you can capture your own unique experience. What’s more, there is no previous diving experience required. This thrilling Shark Cage Adventure experience is one of only a few in the world where you are guaranteed to have an underwater encounter with sharks.
